Behind the Scenes: How We Craft Our Plates

Behind the Scenes: How We Craft Our PlatesAt PlateEco, we follow a sustainable and eco-friendly process to transform naturally fallen Areca palm leaves into durable, biodegradable plates. Here’s how we do it:
Naturally Fallen Leaves:We source naturally shed Areca palm leaves, ensuring no trees are harmed in the process. These leaves are collected, sorted, and prepared for cleaning.
Fresh Water Cleaning:The leaves are thoroughly washed using fresh water to remove any dirt, dust, or debris, ensuring they are completely clean before processing.
Heat Pressing:The cleaned leaves are placed into heat press machines, where they are molded into different plate shapes under high pressure and temperature. This process strengthens the plates and ensures they are free from moisture.
Trimming:After pressing, the plates are trimmed to remove excess edges and ensure a smooth, uniform finish. This gives them their final shape and refined look.
Cleaning and Buffing:Each plate undergoes additional cleaning and buffing to remove any remaining fibers or imperfections, ensuring a polished and smooth surface.
Sterilization:The plates are sterilized using heat or UV treatment to eliminate any bacteria, ensuring they are completely hygienic and safe for use.
Shrink WrappingThe sterilized plates are packed in shrink-wrap packaging to maintain hygiene, protect them from dust and moisture, and ensure they reach customers in pristine condition.
Packing:The wrapped plates are carefully packed into boxes for shipping. We use eco-friendly packaging materials to maintain our commitment to sustainability.
Dining Ready:Our plates are now ready to be used! Whether for everyday meals, events, or catering, they provide a sustainable alternative to plastic and paper disposables.
Disposal:After use, the plates can be easily composted, returning to the earth without causing pollution. Since they are 100% biodegradable, they break down naturally, enriching the soil.
Back to Earth 🌍:The cycle comes full circle—our plates decompose and nourish the earth, making them a truly zero-waste product. By choosing PlateEco, you contribute to a cleaner, greener planet!

We source our leaves from small regions in Karnataka, including Shimoga, Channagiri, and Gubbi, where local villagers and farmers collect and store the raw materials sustainably.
Our leaves are carefully stored in a clean, dry environment at our factory to maintain their quality and ensure they remain free from moisture or contaminants before processing.
